Developed in the 1950s, Prolintane is a mild stimulant whose structure and mechanism of action strongly resemble that of pyrovalerone and MDPV. Because of its good safety profile prolintane is often prescribed to the elderly to increase motivation, counteract the effects of senile dementia, and counter act age related cognitive decline. Prolintane is mostly used in the European countries, where multiple cases of abuse have been reported. These reports deem prolintane as a “rave drug” that is often abused in combination with other substances. To my knowledge there are no documented inststances of abuse in the US.
